Chair Yoga & Physio Chi

Chair Yoga & Chair Chi:

All poses within the sequencing of this class will be performed from a seated position on a chair. This slower-paced class will work through simple variations of the week’s poses, encouraging mobility, flexibility and gentle strengthening of the body. These classes is perfect for those with injuries or conditions that make it difficult to kneel or get up & down from the floor.

Difference between Chair Chi & Chair Yoga Classes:

Chair Yoga focuses on gentle stretching, flexibility, posture, and relaxation through modified yoga poses performed while seated or using a chair for support. Chair Tai Chi involves slow, flowing movements that emphasise balance, coordination, body awareness, and mindfulness, making it particularly beneficial for falls prevention and overall mobility.

Physical Requirements:

Be able to sit in a chair.

Physio Chi:

Physio-Chi, developed by physiotherapist Moh Tapper, is a simplified and safe approach to Tai Chi that blends Yang Long Form with elements of Sun Style. Designed for easy learning and faster progress, it avoids twisting, pivoting, and prolonged bent-knee positions. With low-impact, controlled movements and flexible options to practice standing, seated, or in water. Physio-Chi supports strength, balance, and overall wellbeing—making it suitable for rehabilitation and people of all ages.
