Our Story

Karen Madden started working in Lara in 1993 and decided to make it her home. Her belief in the potential of the area and the community led her to buy The Lara Physiotherapy Clinic in 1997 with a vision to build an exceptional Allied Health Clinic, delivering individualised care of the highest quality to all in the region.

Over the last 20 years, Lara Physiotherapy Health Network has changed locations, undergone renovations, and transformed into a facility that offers a range of opportunities and services for clients, including Physiotherapy, Sporting Injuries, Women’s Health & Continence, Hydrotherapy, Myotherapy, Exercise Physiology and Workplace manual handling training and ergonomics.

Our recent renovations have included three additional treatment rooms, a completely modernised Pilates studio and functional rehabilitation facility.

Our philosophy of ‘Don’t Live with Pain… Be the Best you Can’ was inspired from the Ancient Greek term “Arete” meaning “being the best you can be”. We believe that through comprehensive knowledge, quality service and effective treatment, people can reach their highest potential at sport, work and life in general.

Our Mission

We are proud to employ mainly local people from our front desk to our Physiotherapists, Myotherapists and Exercise Physiologists. Our mission statement of providing personal service, value and exceptional client care is shared by our whole team. We also liaise strongly with other health providers, businesses, and community to offer a locally focused and integrated health service to provide you, the client the best outcomes.

All our staff maintain high standards of professional development and education to continue to rise above in our level of assessment and treatment. We offer a diverse range of skills to ensure that we can assist in treating the full range of musculoskeletal, sporting and work-related injuries.

Onsite Rehab Gym

Our newly renovated rehab gym can cater for all needs ranging from low level rehab for those with disabilities (we have wheelchair access) through to high-end support rehabilitation as well as strength conditioning.

Programs can utilise our Pilates reformers, trap table and Cadillac, extensive weight training area including squat rack, cable machines and free weights or our variety of cardiovascular conditioning equipment.

The new gym affords a lot of space to use, so this can be done in a group setting for those who need ongoing support or in one on one sessions for those who can continue their rehab individually.
