Sports Massage combines different massage techniques to enhance sports performance
and recuperation. It is an effective component of any training program.

Regular sports massage can:

• reduce the chance of injury, through proper stretching and event
preparation, and through deep tissue massage;
• improve range of motion and muscle flexibility, resulting in improved
power and performance;
• shorten recovery time between workouts;
• maximize the supply of nutrients and oxygen through increased blood flow;
• enhance the elimination of metabolic by-products of exercise.

Infant Massage Instructor

Teaching Infant Massage is a rewarding opportunity, promoting well-being and
enhancing bonding between infants and their caregivers. Infant massage assists
the growth and development of baby’s body, mind and spirit. In addition it can
bring relief to complaints of colic, constipation, respiratory disorders and
sleeping difficulties.

With Infant Massage we use touch, our first language, to enhance our expression
of love, caring and respect, to aid in the bonding process.

Relaxation Massage

What is Relaxation Massage?

Relaxation or Swedish massage is a smooth flowing style that helps reduce:
• stress
• improve circulation and range of movement
• eases and tones muscles
• provides the deep relaxation that allows our minds and bodies to recharge and
rejuvenate

Remedial Massage

Remedial massage can alleviate specific muscular aches and joint problems which
are chronic or related to overuse; release painful muscle spasms; relieve tension
headaches and neck pain; break up adhesions and scar tissue that cause pain and
stiffness in muscles and tendons; relieve joint pressure caused by osteoarthritis;
counteract the effects of prolonged stress and bodily tension; assist in the
rehabilitation of sprained and strained muscles.

Corrective exercises are used to complement your massage and may assist you to
improve your range of movement and flexibility of muscles and joints through
stretching exercises; strengthening any muscle imbalances that could contribute to
poor postural or muscle fatigue and correct poor postural habits that cause
chronic muscular pain.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger points, also known as myofascial trigger points, are areas of
hyperirritability in the soft tissue structure. These can be acute sources of
pain, unnoticed by the client until pressure is applied by the practitioner.

Trigger points are manifested as small contraction knots in the muscles, that
control the state of contraction and active ones may cause muscle spasm and
referred pain.

Treatment consists of physical therapy, manipulation and stretching. A firm
digital pressure is applied by the practitioner, who is able to locate the
specific points causing pain and restricted movement and these may often be
located in places different to where the client actually feels the pain.

Trigger Point Therapy is sometimes incorporated with Sports Massage and the client
is usually unclothed for the treatment, which may not include the use of oil.

Other factors such as nutrition, stress and chronic illness are also considered,
as potential contributors towards the problem. Conditions that will benefit from
